STORCH Magnetic Slide Conveyors provide Industrial Automation conveying hot, cold, wet, oily or dry ferrous materials virtually anywhere trouble free conveying is required. Magnetic Slide Conveyors use permanent and powerful ceramic or rare earth magnets that are chain driven under a non-moving slide plate. They are ideal for conveying small turnings, stampings and small assembly components as well as scrap such as punch-outs, trim stock and chips. Whether your need is for light duty jobs or heavy workloads, STORCH Magnetic Slide Conveyors are designed with all moving parts completely enclosed so there’s nothing to jam, become contaminated, or wear. No external moving parts means these conveyors are safe for employees.

Operate
How Does A Magnetic Conveyor Operate?
Ferrous material is dropped onto the receiving end of the magnetic conveyor. Magnets moving beneath the stationary slider plate (magnetically) carry the ferrous material to the discharge end of the conveyor. At the discharge end of the conveyor the slider plate curves, and as the magnets pull away from the slider plate product is released and drops off the end of the conveyor.

Magnetic Conveyor Construction
Magnets- It All Starts Here
At Storch®, we only use permanent, industrial-grade ceramic or high-energy neodymium magnets that are built to last a lifetime. Our permanent magnets will lose less than 1% of their strength over 100 years. This commitment to durability extends to all our products. Our philosophy is that since the magnets last a long time, so should everything else. Therefore, our conveyors are overbuilt with long service life expectations, minimizing downtime worries. We wrap our magnets in UHMW and use environmentally safe hydraulic oil, ensuring less slider bed and internal wear or damage, even when dents occur.
Superior Chain Quality: The Strength of Solid-Pin Roller Chain
At Storch®, we prioritize reliability and durability in every component, which is why we use oversized roller, solid-pin extended pitch chain from Allied Lock Corp. Unlike hollow-pin chains, solid-pin chains offer significantly greater strength and reliability. This robust construction ensures superior performance, reducing the risk of breakage and extending the chain's lifecycle.
Our solid-pin chains are pre-stretched, providing immediate stability and readiness for demanding environments. The benefits of using solid-pin chains over hollow-pin chains include:
-
Enhanced Strength and Durability: Solid-pin chains can withstand higher loads and resist wear better than hollow-pin chains, ensuring a longer operational life.
-
Improved Reliability: With fewer points of failure, solid-pin chains offer consistent performance, minimizing the risk of downtime and maintenance costs.
-
Optimized Performance: Pre-stretched chains eliminate initial stretching, providing smooth and efficient operation from the start.
By choosing our solid-pin roller chains, you invest in a solution that promises exceptional strength, reliability, and long-term value.
Precision Track: In-House Crafted Conveyor Tracks
At Storch®, we take pride in our in-house fabrication capabilities, ensuring the highest quality for our conveyor tracks. Our track options include laser-cut mild steel, precisely NC-formed on our in-house press brake, guaranteeing exceptional accuracy and durability.
All curve sections in Storch™ Beltless Slide Conveyors are crafted from stainless steel, providing superior resistance to wear. For extreme and severe duty applications, we offer optional manganese tracks in the curve sections, designed to withstand the harshest conditions.
Our skilled craftspeople meticulously roll and hand TIG weld each section, ensuring perfect fitment and seamless integration every time. At Storch®, we cut no corners, delivering top-tier craftsmanship and reliability in every conveyor track we produce.

Precision Laser Cutting: Advanced Technology for Superior Quality
At Storch®, all sheet metal components are precision laser-cut on our in-house CNC laser cutter. Our large, oversized 60" x 120" table allows us to cut larger sheets, producing fewer sections and achieving better accuracy. This process ensures optimal sheet utilization, resulting in less scrap and more value for your investment.
The AI features of our latest laser cutter make this machine an incredible asset to our workforce. Parts are produced with exact precision, and replacement parts for your custom-tailored conveyor can be reproduced with just a few clicks, even years later. Trust in Storch® for cutting-edge laser technology that guarantees high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.
Precision Bending: State-of-the-Art NC Press Brake
At Storch®, all flat laser-cut sheet metal components requiring bending are processed using our 14ft. NC Press Brake. Our HFE 220-4 Amada brake, upgraded with a new digital interface controller and enhanced hardware, ensures accurate bends over long distances. With a press capacity of 2200 kN and a 14-foot press beam length, it handles large projects efficiently, reducing seams and improving component accuracy.
The eco-friendly drive system and patented crowning technology guarantee consistent, high-quality results. Skilled craftspeople ensure perfect fitment every time, and we can reproduce exact replacement parts years later, maintaining the longevity and reliability of your conveyor.
Expert In-House Welding: Precision and Pride
At Storch®, we specialize in both MIG and TIG welding, with the majority of our work focused on TIG welding. This technique is not only aesthetically pleasing but also significantly cleaner than MIG welding. The benefits of TIG welding include:
-
Clean and Precise Welds: TIG welding produces cleaner welds with minimal spatter, reducing the need for extensive grinding and eliminating abrasive weld bb's even after painting.
-
Enhanced Work Environment: By minimizing weld smoke and grinding, our facility remains cleaner and brighter. This contributes to a healthier and more pleasant working environment for our employees.
-
Employee Satisfaction: Our employees take great pride in their work, and a cleaner workspace means happier and more productive team members. Each weld is considered a signature that lasts forever, and we proudly let them show.
-
Leak Testing: Every single conveyor undergoes rigorous leak testing to ensure there will be no leaks on your plant floor, guaranteeing reliability and performance.
By choosing Storch®, you benefit from our commitment to quality and precision in every weld. Our TIG welding processes ensure superior aesthetics and functionality, contributing to the longevity and reliability of your products.
In-House Enamel Painting: Superior Finishes with Advanced Technology
At Storch®, we take pride in our in-house enamel painting process, utilizing our brand new Global Finishing Systems paint booth. This state-of-the-art facility features a 1.8 million BTU heater, allowing us to bake our products and ensure optimum paint performance and consistency. The booth measures 27 feet in length and includes 12-foot doors on both ends, accommodating large products with ease.
Advanced lighting and air filtration systems contribute to superior finishes, enhancing the quality and durability of our painted products. By controlling every aspect of the painting process in-house, we guarantee the highest standards of finish and longevity for all Storch products.
Environmentally Safe Lubricant
At Storch®, we use Hydrosafe Grade 32 oil. Its is a vegetable-based lubricant used in our magnetic conveyors. This safe and environmentally friendly oil allows us to ship our conveyors worldwide pre-filled with the correct amount of oil, ensuring that our customers can use them immediately upon arrival without needing to manage oil levels themselves.
For over 12 years this feature has consistently received positive feedback from preventative maintenance teams at companies, who appreciate the ease of use and quality protection it provides.

NOTE:
The load capacity charts provide a general view of conveyor capacities and are to be used as a guideline only. Consult Storch Engineering if you are applying a magnetic conveyor to conditions other than those listed. When sizing a magnetic conveyor, the important criterion is how much of a load will one magnet handle. When this is known, the hourly or daily capacity is a simple calculation. When handling irregular shapes and sizes, it is sometimes necessary to submit samples to Storch for evaluation prior to manufacture.
